I'd like to apologize for the delay, but here is the poll for a general Canadian Ecosophia meet up.

I'm only using a free account, so I cannot post an official poll, but instead I will ask the following questions. There are a few questions which I'll ask later (such as timing), once I have a better sense of how many people are interested, and what people are hoping for with this event.

1) We are going to need a location. I'm thinking somewhere along the Via Rail Corridor; Montreal, Niagara Falls, or Toronto are currently the top contenders in my mind. Which of these do people prefer, or is there somewhere else you think would work better?

2) What sort of event are people interested in? I think it might make sense to to do something on a larger scale, at least a weekend and maybe longer, but I know that won't work for everyone, and gauging interest will help with the other steps.

3) Are you willing to help with the gathering, and if so, what kind of help are you able to provide? This is an open ended question: anything from helping organize activities through to catering or offering initiations for those who have been initiated into the various esoteric lineages.

4) Does anyone have any interest in setting up local meetings? I'll help facilitate them to the extent I can; and I figure having a central location to discuss these will be fairly helpful.

Naturally, Toronto is easiest for me. We've done the occasional escape weekends to Niagara Fall, and Prince Edward County wards for Family.
My Wife isn't into much of this community currently. Parental dementia has been a real drain for her, and that journey isn't quite over yet.
We are a small IT Security firm that took a beating between the parents' slides and the lockdowns, so that and rebuilding ourselves has been our focus. So my abilities to participate will be a bit limited. Best I can do for now would be shorter gatherings currently, pubs, patios and the sort.
I've been trying to think of suitable gathering spots, but so many were lost in the lockdowns. It has been such a challenge for an InfoSec group we are part of, and we've been hit or miss to even those events (TASK.to)

I'll pitch in what I can at any event I can make it too, and hopefully more once we are clear of the parental drain. (2 dads down, 2 moms spiralling) but for now, it is usually a last minute decision if I cam make it to such things.

I haven't even mentioned the more occult side of JMG and these sets of communities around him to my wife yet.

Having this central location to discuss is a great thing, and the thing I am most likely able to participate the most in for the next little while.

I will certainly keep an eye out for appropriate venues when I can.

North York is not a problem, one bus (88) to St Clair station and up. Or driving is an option if far enough off the subway that parking is an option.

Not so much a hops guy, but cider, wine and others are such pub type stuff works for me. Perhaps just putting a stake in the ground, picking a pub you like and otherwise frequent, set a time, and see who shows up for a pay your own bill gathering? Pick a quiet time (not during playoff games of any sportsball) and see who can make it to start at least some locals here. That is how a few groups have coalesced.
Or if we spot any event many of us might otherwise go to? One path I was thinking SF cons that Toronto's scene has collapsed for a bit, where I am watching what is going on in that direction. The other many areas JMG plays in surely have such possible events as well. Books on the Street would be one thing we could connect around in the fall, as well as farmers markets.

Hopefully your parents are making provisions should they go that way. It can go slow or fast depending on what is triggering it. Both of the in-laws were different vascular caused (mini-strokes, we witnessed a few) and hit fairly quickly. So watching my wife for any signs is a concern, even if that is her step-dad, and she takes more after her birth-dad (seat belt would have so saved him, but this was before those laws that they had to be installed)
